Ingredients

Brownies
  • 113 g butter cubed (1 stick)
  • 80 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 300 g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp red liquid food color OR 1 tbsp red gel food color
  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
Frosting
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 ounces
  • 340 g white chocolate chips
  • 85 g Valentine M&M's
  • 20 g Heart Shaped Sprinkles

Equipment

  • 9x9 Baking Pan

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Use either non-stick foil or just use regular foil & then spray with non-stick spray & line a metal 9″x9″ baking pan. (please do this- as it helps remove the brownies from the pan later on.)
  3. Stir butter & chocolate in a heavy large saucepan over low heat until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  4. Whisk in sugar & then eggs- one at a time.
  5. Stir in vanilla, salt & food coloring.
  6. Sift the flour & baking powder & then stir it in & blend well.
  7. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan.
  8. Bake until puffed & dry looking- or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just some moist batter attached. (about 35-45 minutes).
  9. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  10. Once Cool- prepare your frosting.
  11. In a small saucepan combine sweetened condensed milk & white chocolate chips.
  12. Heat until completely melted & smooth.
  13. Pour immediately onto the baked brownies while they are still in the pan.
  14. Top with M&M's & sprinkles.
  15. Allow to set before cutting. I popped mine in the refrigerator overnight.

Notes

These brownies are best served chilled to allow the frosting to set properly. Feel free to experiment with different colored sprinkles to suit your occasion.
