Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 680 g chicken thighs or drumsticks, skin-on or skinless Use your preferred cut of chicken.
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil Optional for baking.
  • 1 tsp salt To taste.
  • 1 tsp pepper To taste.
Glaze
  • 2 tbsp gochujang Korean chili paste.
  • 3 tbsp honey Provides sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Adds umami flavor.
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar For acidity.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil Adds a nutty flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Enhances flavor.
  • 1 tsp grated ginger Adds a fresh, spicy flavor.
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water Optional, for thickening.
Garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds For garnish.
  • 2 tbsp sliced green onions For garnish.

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and sear the chicken until golden brown.
  4. Mix gochujang, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a bowl.
  5. Coat the chicken with the glaze and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. If needed, thicken the glaze with cornstarch mixture.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Adjust the glaze ingredients to your taste preference. Serve with steamed rice or a fresh salad.
