Seared Scallops Recipe

Ingredients
  

Scallops
  • 227 g king scallops
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp pepper
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 15 g butter
  • 5 ml lemon juice
  • 5 g lemon zest

Equipment

  • Medium Fry Pan

Method
 

  1. Wash the scallops and gently pat them dry.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Combine the olive oil and butter in a medium fry pan. Heat over medium-low until melted.
  4. Add the scallops to the pan and cook for 4 minutes.
  5. Flip and cook the other side for another 4 minutes.
  6. Remove. Season with lemon juice and lemon zest when serving.
  7. Optional – serve with additional melted butter drizzled on top.

Notes

Make sure the scallops are dry before searing to get a nice golden crust. Serve immediately for best results.
