- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the butter in a 9×13-inch glass baking dish and place it in the oven to melt. Once melted, remove from the oven.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the egg, milk, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the batter directly over the melted butter without stirring to create the classic cobbler layering effect.
- Add the pineapple chunks on top, spreading them into an even layer as best as possible.
- Drop the cream cheese pieces evenly over the pineapple.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown, the edges are bubbling, and the center is set.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm plain or topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
This cobbler is perfect served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. You can also try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor.
