- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, orange juice, orange zest, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- If using the glaze, mix the powdered sugar with orange juice until smooth and drizzle over the cooled cake.
Notes
For an extra citrus kick, consider adding a teaspoon of lemon zest to the batter. Serve slices with a dollop of whipped cream or enjoy as is with a cup of tea.
