Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 450 g boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
Glaze
  • 60 ml honey use good quality honey
  • 80 ml BBQ sauce your favorite variety
  • 15 ml soy sauce adds depth of flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 15 ml oil vegetable or olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tsp pepper to taste
To Serve
  • 2 cups cooked rice white, brown, or jasmine
  • 1 bunch green onions for garnish, optional
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish, optional

Method
 

  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, BBQ sauce, and soy sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until bubbly and slightly thickened.
  3. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the glaze. Let it simmer for another 2–3 minutes until sticky and fully coated.
  4. Spoon warm rice into bowls and top with the honey BBQ chicken. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Feel free to add a pinch of chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce for some heat.
