Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 pieces croissants large, sliced
  • 4 pieces eggs
  • 240 ml milk
  • 120 ml heavy cream
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch table salt
Topping
  • 60 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 g brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 60 g butter unsalted, cold and diced

Equipment

  • Baking Dish

Method

  1. Grease a baking dish and arrange the croissant slices in layers.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced cold butter. Use your fingers to create a crumbly texture.
  5. Sprinkle the topping over the croissants in the baking dish.
  6. Cover and refrigerate overnight for the flavors to come together.
  7. The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake the casserole for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and set in the center.
  9. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, try using day-old croissants. Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup or a dusting of powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
