Ingredients

Ribs
  • 3 lb baby back ribs 3–4 lb, remove membrane
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce divided
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar for rub
  • 1 tbsp paprika for rub
  • 1 tsp garlic powder for rub
  • 1 tsp onion powder for rub
  • 1 tsp black pepper for rub
  • 1 tsp salt for rub
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce to enhance flavor

Equipment

  • Crockpot

Method

  1. Prepare the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry.
  2. Make the rub: Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Season: Rub the seasoning generously over both sides of the ribs.
  4. Add to crockpot: Place the ribs in the slow cooker. Pour Worcestershire sauce and about ½ cup BBQ sauce over them.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the ribs are tender.
  6. Glaze: Carefully remove the ribs and brush generously with the remaining BBQ sauce.
  7. Finish: For a sticky caramelized coating, broil for 3–5 minutes or grill briefly.
  8. Serve: Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes, then cut between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce.

Notes

For extra tender, flavorful ribs, cook them on LOW for 7–8 hours and brush with BBQ sauce after cooking for a sticky, caramelized finish.
