  • 2 cans apple pie filling 21 oz each
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the apple pie filling evenly in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the cake mix over the apple pie filling.
  4. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the cake mix.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the top, ensuring all areas are covered.
  6. Sprinkle ground cinnamon evenly over the top.
  7. Add the nuts if using, distributing them evenly on top.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

This cake is best enjoyed warm, straight from the oven. Feel free to substitute the nuts with your favorite variety or leave them out entirely for a nut-free version.
