Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla, eggs, applesauce, and yogurt. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the apple cider. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the bread bakes, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a small bowl.
- Once the bread is done, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, brush the melted butter over the top and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
This bread pairs perfectly with a hot cup of coffee or tea. You can also try adding chopped nuts or raisins for extra texture.
