- Cut each mozzarella stick in half, creating 24 shorter sticks.
- Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
- Dredge each mozzarella stick in flour, shaking off excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a plate and freeze for at least 10 minutes. This helps keep the cheese from melting too quickly.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the frozen mozzarella sticks in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching.
- Air fry for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Remove from the air fryer and let cool for a minute before serving.
