Ingredients
  

Mozzarella Sticks
  • 12 g mozzarella sticks (string cheese)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 cucchiaino garlic powder
  • 1 cucchiaino Italian seasoning
  • 1 cucchiaino salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ml cooking spray

Method
 

  1. Cut each mozzarella stick in half, creating 24 shorter sticks.
  2. Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second bowl, and mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
  3. Dredge each mozzarella stick in flour, shaking off excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a plate and freeze for at least 10 minutes. This helps keep the cheese from melting too quickly.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the frozen mozzarella sticks in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching.
  7. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and let cool for a minute before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double bread the mozzarella sticks by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps before freezing.
