- Clean the morel mushrooms by rinsing them gently under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs until well mixed.
- Dip each morel mushroom first into the egg mixture, then roll in the flour-cornmeal mixture until fully coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 5 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Arrange the coated morels in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Spray the tops of the morels lightly with cooking spray.
- Cook for 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the morels in the egg and flour-cornmeal mixture before air frying. Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice for added flavor.
