Ingredients

Lotus Root
  • 1 medium lotus root about 8 oz
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 1 cucchiaino salt
  • 0.5 cucchiaino ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cucchiaino garlic powder optional
  • 0.5 cucchiaino chili powder optional

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. Peel the lotus root and slice it into 1/4-inch thick rounds. Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch.
  2. In a bowl, toss the lotus root slices with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange the lotus root slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding. You may need to cook in batches.
  5. Cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking, until the slices are crispy and golden brown.
  6. Remove from the air fryer and serve hot as a snack or side dish.

Notes

For extra crispiness, soak the sliced lotus root in water for 30 minutes before cooking, then dry thoroughly with a paper towel.
