- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the emu steaks.
- Place the seasoned emu steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Cook the emu steaks at 400°F for 8 minutes. Flip the steaks halfway through the cooking time.
- Check for doneness; the internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C). If needed, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, then serve.
Notes
Emu steaks are best served medium-rare to medium for optimal tenderness; avoid overcooking.
