Ingredients
  

Calamari
  • 450 g fresh calamari, cleaned and sliced into rings
Breading
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cucchiaino garlic powder
  • 1 cucchiaino paprika
  • 0.5 cucchiaino salt
  • 0.25 cucchiaino black pepper
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray for spraying
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
  4. Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
  5. Dredge each calamari ring in the flour mixture, shaking off excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Arrange the breaded calamari in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  8. Remove and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

For extra crunch, double bread the calamari by repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps.
