  • 454 g alligator tail meat cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 240 ml buttermilk
  • 125 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 cucchiaino paprika
  • 1 cucchiaino garlic powder
  • 1 cucchiaino onion powder
  • 0.5 cucchiaino cayenne pepper optional
  • 0.5 cucchiaino salt
  • 0.5 cucchiaino black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, soak the alligator pieces in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (you can skip this step for a quicker prep, but it adds flavor).
  2. In another bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove alligator pieces from buttermilk and let excess drip off.
  5. Dredge the alligator pieces in the seasoned flour, ensuring they are fully coated.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  7. Place the coated alligator pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches).
  8. Spray the tops of the alligator pieces lightly with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  9. Cook at 400°F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, shaking the basket halfway through.
  10. Serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crunch, you can double-dip by soaking the alligator in buttermilk again after the first flour coating, then dredging it once more in flour before air frying.
