Main Ingredients
  • 450 g alligator meat, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 240 ml buttermilk
  • 120 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 cucchiaino paprika
  • 1 cucchiaino garlic powder
  • 0.5 cucchiaino cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 cucchiaino salt
  • 0.5 cucchiaino black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Method

  1. In a bowl, soak the alligator pieces in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the alligator from the buttermilk and let excess drip off.
  5. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  6. Place the coated alligator pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, spraying lightly with cooking spray.
  7. Air fry for 6 minutes, then flip the pieces, spray again, and cook for an additional 6 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the alligator in the buttermilk and flour mixture before air frying.
