- In a bowl, soak the alligator pieces in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the alligator from the buttermilk and let excess drip off.
- Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- Place the coated alligator pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, spraying lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 6 minutes, then flip the pieces, spray again, and cook for an additional 6 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the air fryer and serve hot.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the alligator in the buttermilk and flour mixture before air frying.
