- 4 white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or haddock)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Pat the fillets dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Place the fish fillets in the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- Flip gently, then pour in lemon juice and sprinkle lemon zest. Cook the other side for 2–3 minutes until fish is flaky.
- Spoon buttery sauce over the fillets as they finish cooking.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
