Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks (for the crust)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (or marinara)
- 20–25 pepperoni slices
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Optional: red pepper flakes, grated Parmesan, or fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) and lightly grease your baking sheet or pizza pan.
- On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 12–14 inch circle and transfer to the pan.
- Lay mozzarella string cheese around the edges of the dough. Fold dough over and seal tightly to create a stuffed crust.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving the edges bare.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese across the sauce.
- Arrange pepperoni slices evenly on top of the cheese.
- Brush crust with olive oil, then sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
- Let rest 2–3 minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Seal crust edges well to prevent cheese from leaking.
- Don’t overload with toppings to avoid a soggy crust.
- Use a pizza stone for extra crispy results.
- Shred your own cheese for best melting quality.
- Leftovers: refrigerate up to 3 days or freeze up to 2 months. Reheat at 375°F for 8–10 minutes.
