Ingredients

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, milk, bread crumbs, and egg. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape evenly.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard until well combined.
  5. Pour the ketchup mixture over the meatloaf and spread evenly on top.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour, or until the meatloaf is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use half ground beef and half ground pork.
  • Leftovers make excellent sandwiches the next day.
  • Internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C) for safe consumption.
