Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh orange juice (about 4–5 oranges)
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the orange juice, orange zest, and granulated sugar until the sugar dissolves completely.
- In a separate bowl, mix the heavy cream, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Slowly add the orange mixture to the cream mixture, whisking continuously to create a smooth, homogenous liquid.
- Pour the mixture evenly into popsicle molds, leaving a small gap at the top to allow for expansion when freezing.
- Insert popsicle sticks into the molds and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely set.
- To remove the creamsicle bars, briefly run warm water over the outside of the molds to loosen them. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Use freshly squeezed orange juice for the best flavor.
- For extra creaminess, you can replace the whole milk with additional heavy cream.
- Customize the sweetness by adjusting the amount of sugar to your taste.
