Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 3/4 cup Mountain Dew (chilled)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for extra tang)
- A few drops green food coloring (optional, for vibrant color)
- Lime zest or green sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Whip the Cream: In a large chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with a hand mixer or stand mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form—about 3 to 4 minutes. Don’t over-whip or it will start turning into butter.
- Mix the Base: In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, Mountain Dew, and lemon juice (if using). Stir in a few drops of green food coloring if you want it ultra-bright and soda-shop nostalgic.
- Fold Together: Gently fold the whipped cream into the Mountain Dew mixture using a rubber spatula. Fold slowly and carefully to keep the mixture airy and creamy.
- Freeze: Pour the mixture into a loaf pan or freezer-safe container. Smooth the top with a spatula and cover with plastic wrap or a lid.
- Chill: Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until fully set. The texture should be creamy and scoopable, like soft-serve.
- Serve: Scoop into bowls or cones and top with lime zest, green sprinkles, or even a drizzle of extra Mountain Dew for that fizzy touch.
Notes
- Tip: Want it extra fizzy? Right before serving, splash a tiny bit of chilled Mountain Dew on top of each scoop!
