- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a lighter version)
- ½ cup mayonnaise (or softened cream cheese)
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with nonstick spray or a small amount of oil. A glass or ceramic dish works best for even baking.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream (or Greek yogurt), mayonnaise (or cream cheese), shredded Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until the sauce is smooth and well blended. It should be creamy but thick enough to coat the chicken.
- Coat the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts or thighs dry with paper towels. This helps the sauce stick better. Place the chicken in the baking dish in a single layer. Spread the creamy mixture generously over each piece, coating them completely. You can also add a little extra sauce around the chicken in the dish to keep things extra moist.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes. Chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the top is golden and bubbly. The sauce should have thickened and formed a creamy crust.
- Broil for Extra Color (Optional): For a beautiful golden top, broil the chicken for an additional 2–3 minutes at the end of baking—but watch closely to avoid burning.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top for a pop of freshness. Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or over rice for a full meal.
Notes
- Don’t skip drying the chicken before coating. Excess moisture can dilute the sauce and cause it to separate slightly during baking.
