Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups White Lily self-rising flour
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and heavy whipping cream. Stir gently with a spatula or wooden spoon just until a shaggy dough forms. Do not overmix—this is key to tender biscuits!
- Form the Biscuits: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it 2–3 times to bring it together. Pat the dough out to about 3/4-inch thickness. Using a round biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass, cut out biscuits. Press straight down—don’t twist—or they won’t rise evenly.
- Arrange and Bake: Place the biscuits close together on the prepared baking sheet for softer sides, or spaced apart for crispier edges. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until tops are lightly golden.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm with butter, jam, honey, or gravy—these biscuits go with everything!
Notes
- Optional Tip: You can brush the tops with melted butter right after baking for extra richness and a glossy finish.
