Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream (or your favorite flavor)
- 2 cups crushed cornflakes (or crispy rice cereal)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
- Wooden popsicle sticks or skewers
Instructions
- Shape the Ice Cream:
- Scoop the ice cream into large chicken drumstick shapes using your hands or a mold. Work quickly, as the ice cream melts fast. Place a wooden stick into the base of each ice cream piece for easier handling.
- Lay the shaped ice cream on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for 1 hour or until firm.
- Prepare the Coating:
- In a shallow dish, combine crushed cornflakes with cinnamon (if using). Set aside.
- Make the “Glue”:
- Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring between each. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Coat the Ice Cream:
- Remove the ice cream shapes from the freezer. Dip each piece in the white chocolate mixture to coat evenly, then roll immediately in the crushed cornflakes to create a crispy “fried” texture. Press gently to adhere the crumbs well.
- Final Freeze:
- Place the coated ice cream back on the tray and freeze for at least 2 hours or until completely solid.
- Serve and Amaze:
- Serve chilled and watch the surprise on everyone’s faces as they realize the fried chicken is actually ice cream!
Notes
- For best results, work in a cool environment to prevent the ice cream from melting too quickly.
- Use a mold for more consistent “fried chicken” shapes.
- Experiment with different cereal coatings for unique flavors and textures.
