Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter (or reserved bacon fat)
For the Sauce:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- ¼ cup chicken broth (or milk, if needed)
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients – Trim the chicken breasts and season with salt and pepper. If using homemade ranch seasoning, mix parsley, dill, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the Bacon – In a large skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then crumble. Reserve 1 tbsp of the bacon fat for added flavor.
- Cook the Chicken – In the same skillet, melt butter (or reserved bacon fat) over medium heat. Add seasoned chicken breasts and cook for 6-8 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Sauce – Lower the heat and add cream cheese and ranch seasoning to the skillet. Stir constantly until smooth and melted. If the sauce is too thick, add ¼ cup chicken broth or milk to loosen it.
- Combine and Simmer – Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce. Sprinkle cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon on top. Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Garnish and Serve – Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot with your favorite sides!
