Cinnamon Sugar Cream Cheese Rolls

Soft, golden pastry rolls filled with sweetened cream cheese and warm cinnamon sugar. These easy, bakery-style treats are perfect for cozy mornings, brunch spreads, or quick dessert cravings.

  • Total Time: 25–30 minutes
  • Yield: 810 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry or 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting or glaze for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese with 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar with cinnamon to make cinnamon sugar.
  4. Roll out the dough:
    • If using crescent dough, press seams to form a single sheet.
    • If using puff pastry, lightly roll into a 10×12 inch rectangle.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log from the longer edge and slice into 8–10 rolls.
  8. Place rolls on prepared baking sheet, brush tops with melted butter, and optionally sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar on top.
  9. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  10. Serve warm with powdered sugar or a simple vanilla glaze.

Notes

  • Let cream cheese soften at room temp for easier spreading.
  • Chill the rolled dough before slicing if it feels too soft.
  • Want a bakery finish? Add a glaze of powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  • Bake in a muffin tin for a rounder shape and crispy edges.
  • Freeze unbaked rolls for later—just bake from frozen with a few extra minutes.
