Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 12 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook the sausage, ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic over medium heat until browned and the onion becomes translucent.
- Drain any excess fat from the pot.
- Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Stir in the heavy cream and broken lasagna noodles.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender and cooked through.
- Add mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until fully melted and the soup becomes creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Ladle into bowls and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning to the soup base.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid curdling the cream.
- Top with additional shredded mozzarella or Parmesan when serving for an extra cheesy touch.
