Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 12 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the sausage, ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic over medium heat until browned and the onion becomes translucent.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the pot.
  3. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and broken lasagna noodles.
  5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender and cooked through.
  6. Add mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until fully melted and the soup becomes creamy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Ladle into bowls and garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning to the soup base.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to avoid curdling the cream.
